Jessie Bohnenkamp, LPC

I am passionate about supporting women, with a special interest in maternal mental health and Highly Sensitive people. As an HSP mom of two young boys, I fully understand the challenge of embracing the chaos of parenting young kids while trying to maintain the order and peace necessary for my own emotional well-being. It is thrilling to help women gain clarity about their values, learn to communicate their needs effectively, and create balanced lives that nourish their spirits.

I am a professional counselor, licensed in Virginia, and the owner of Plum Counseling & Wellness, LLC. I hold a Master’s degree in Marriage & Family Counseling, and I have completed additional training in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders, Telemental Health & Digital Ethics, and high sensitivity.

Every client is unique, so my approach is tailored to your specific situation. Some of the approaches I utilize include:

I approach every client with respect, compassion, and genuine curiosity, and it is an honor to support my clients through their periods of vulnerability and change. My goal is to show up authentically for each client at every session, and if you make the same commitment, we can do wonderful things together. I can’t wait to see what you’re capable of!

Diana Jackson, Resident in Counseling

Diana’s approach is person-centered and collaborative;  she provides a nonjudgmental, safe space where clients can grow through exploring their struggles and strengths and discovering new avenues to achieve their goals. She is currently pursuing her LPC under the supervision of Florinda Reid, LPC, RPT-S. Diana completed her Master’s in professional counseling from Liberty University and spent several years working in a variety of settings, including residential, academic, and community-based. She has worked with children, adolescents, and adults and has a particular interest in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy.

As a mother of three, Diana’s personal values are rooted in authenticity, honesty, vulnerability, and humor. Born and raised in Maryland, she lived and worked in Wyoming and Colorado for several years before settling down in Virginia. Diana still holds a great love for Wyoming and considers it a home away from home.

Through her personal and professional journey, Diana has developed a philosophy centered around realizing and validating the human need for connection. Her goal as a clinician is to walk with her clients as they fearlessly enter their darkest places knowing that “the dark is not an end, but a door. This is the way that a new beginning comes.” (Gayle Boss)

Diana is pleased to offer a sliding scale fee for clients with financial concerns. If you’re interested in scheduling with Diana, fill out the form on the “Contact Us” page or email her directly at djackson.counseling@gmail.com.
